Jane had a fetal assessment at the hospital this morning. Everything was great - heart rate, movement, placenta, amniotic fluid...the whole shebang. Josh wasn't at the original ultrasound, so he got a chance to see all that today: Little fists up by the baby's face, lots of squirming, and hair! Our baby has hair! We told the technician that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby, so she turned the screen for the part of the ultrasound that would have given it away. Oh the suspense!
She is scheduled for another fetal assessment on Tuesday and induction on Thursday/Friday. Being induced really throws a wrench into her plans to give birth without an epidural, so we are really hoping that nature takes its course and the baby comes before then.
Lots of old wives tales have been recommended - from tea, to pressure points, to bumpy drives, to walking hills...We'll see what this weekend brings!

Hi Jane,
Glad you're hanging in there...only a few more days to go. We're all thinking of you and wishing you all the best. I sent you an email to your account at work today - not sure if you can access it from home. Don't worry, you can be induced and not have an epidural - evidence, Libby! Best of luck. Love Kath et al
You were induced with Libby and didn't have an epidural? Wow - I didn't know that. That actually makes me feel really good! I just think labouring at home would be so much more comfortable than starting at zero at the hospital and watching the clock. However it happens, at least we still get the same great reward in the end!
